The Dome of Vegan Events (DOVE) is for small groups of vegans - or for those willing to adhere to a vegan lifestyle while visiting the DOVE. It sits on a 38-acre wildlife sanctuary within the Santa Fe National Forest near Santa Fe, NM.
Rae and JC acquired the land in 2019, and have since been steadily renovating the structurally-sound yet completely unique buildings on the 38-acre parcel of land in the Santa Fe National Forest (Southern Rocky Mountain Range). Located about 1/2 hour drive from downtown Santa Fe, the surroundings are beautiful and nature dominates the tranquil setting that nestles up to the towering ridge to the west. Only the occasional train whistle breaks through the wind swept forest.
We have two RVs for glamping, three campsites or bring your own small RV or van for a secluded stay in our wildlife sanctuary. There are miles of great hiking with world-class mountain biking trails and ziplines nearby. Our large pavilion has electricity, WiFi, vegan grill and picnic tables. Cell reception is nearly everywhere. Beautiful mountain views, caves and private trails right on the property. More photos and trip planning HERE.
In an effort to use fewer resources, The DOVE has been renovated using repurposed materials whenever possible. All furnishings and artworks are gathered from yard sales, thrift stores and Freecycle. You will not find any animal products in the furnishings, linens, or pantry/refrigerator. All cleaning products used are 100% vegan and chemical free. The indoor spaces are safe for those with mild chemical sensitivity. (Those with more severe sensitivity may choose to avoid the main dome building due to a propane cooking stove and on demand water heater).
We do not feed the birds because of the many species of wildlife in the area who would become habituated to being fed. Coyotes, bears, mountain lions, foxes and many others call the land their home. We do provide continuous water and it has become a birders paradise. Well behaved dogs who get along with others are welcome to stay at The Dove and enjoy the endless leash free trails.
